Journals
If you are anything like me you probably have a couple of empty notebooks or journals lying around. There are lots of wonderful ways to fill empty journals that you will love and get hooked on right away. There are so many different ways to use your empty books and today I will be giving you my top four.
No. 1, Morning Pages or Stream of Conscious Pages
No. 1, Morning Pages or Stream of Conscious Pages
If you have had a journal for a while that has never really worked or if you have just never found motivation for journaling but still want to use your journal, then you should try morning pages or stream of conscious pages. The idea of stream of conscious pages is simple: write two full pages of your thoughts down in your journal without thinking too much of it. I like journaling in the morning to get everything on my mind down on paper so I don't have to be mulling over it all day. It helps. When you start journaling these pages, I promise you will be at a loss for words, you will have nothing to write but. just. write. Past journal entries have always been so fun and interesting to look back on and I love having all my journals to do just that with.
No. 2, Commonplace Journal
My commonplace journal is a slightly more recent addition to my journal collection and I absolutely love it. The idea of a commonplace journal is a small journal that goes with you everywhere where you can write down any inspiration, quotes, ideas, and anything else you like. I love having a little book to be able to look back on the little words, quotes, or ideas that inspired me in the past.
No. 3, Bullet journal
Bullet journals are a type of planner and one of the reasons I love using one is because they can be as complicated or as simple as you wish and, oh, there are so many different uses for a bullet journal. The idea of a bullet journal, simply put, is a journal that uses bullet points to make daily to-do lists and can be used to plan out your days. There are lots more to it too like habit trackers, mood trackers, calendars, future logs, and practically anything else you would like to add. I love how personalized bullet journals can be - they can be artsy or organized or a little of both.
No. 4, Writers journal
This journal is not for everyone, if you don't like writing you probably won't have a writer's journal, and if you are a writer you probably have a journal just like it. This is a notebook to fill with characters, descriptions, ideas, quotes, stories and so much more. Trust me, writers, if you don't have one of these you will love it! You don't want to be out of the house with nothing to write on or with when an idea pops up. Also, there is just something to writing on paper instead of solely the computer. I always revise what I write on the computer but sometimes it just helps me to start on paper.
Some of my favorite journals are simple books with a sticker on the front to make it my own. I love journals from brands like Moleskin or Leuchtturm1917.
